Meet The Director
 Corbin Russ

Corbin Russ is a native of Licking County, growing up in the Pataskala area and graduating from Licking Heights High School. After high school, he went on to undergraduate education at the Capital University Conservatory of Music. While at the Conservatory, Mr. Russ performed in various bands on the French horn (his primary instrument), sang with the Chapel Choir, and played Alto/Tenor Saxophone for the jazz ensembles. Mr. Russ was also the Band Festival Manager for three years, responsible for running a weekend-long event with high school band members across the State of Ohio.
Outside of Capital, Mr. Russ performed in many different ensembles. These include The Ohio State University Marching Band, Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps (both on the mellophone), and is currently a member of the Brass Band of Columbus on the tenor horn. He has also taught in many schools for band camps, was a season-long visual technician for the Reynoldsburg High school Marching Band, and was the Education Intern for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. When Mr. Russ is not involved with band, he likes to spend time with his family, going on trips and hikes, biking, and doing a little bit of gardening. He is very excited to be back in Licking County as the Band Director at Heath City Schools, and cannot wait for many great years to come! |

Meet The Bands
 Marching Band
Marching band is a competitive ensemble that runs from June until the end of football season. Along with football games and parades, the Marching Band competes at OMEA competitions throughout Ohio in pursuit of a trip to OMEA State Marching Band Finals.

 Pep Band
Students Grade 7-12 that play during home basketball games.

Concert Band
Though the instrumentation is similar to Marching Band, the music played is made up of original compositions, light music and popular tunes.
Jazz Band
This ensemble is made up a varying number of members that play a variety of styles of jazz music.
Indoor Percussion
Indoor percussion is a performance art that combines marching, music, and theater. It's often performed on a gym floor using a tarp as a stage.
Beginning Band
Beginning Band at Heath starts in 6th grade but is not limited to 6th grade. It is made up of students who have shown an interest in the Band Program, and are playing an instrument for the first time.

Advanced Band is made up of students who are continuing to improve upon their playing ability in preparation for future band opportunities.
